New York Institute of Photography Reaccredited by DETC

The New York Institute of Photography was re-accredited by the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC) through 2017. At the June meeting of the Distance Education and Training Council, the council members voted to accredit the school, which has been a DETC member since 2006.

NYIP was founded in 1910 with the goal of providing high-quality photography education to everyone who wanted to learn. Since 1975, the school has offered home-study photography courses to students all over the world.

The New York Institute of Photography, which is also licensed in the state of New York by the New York State Education Department, received notice of the decision to re-accredit for five years earlier this month. The accreditation covers the school and NYIP’s three home-study photography courses, The Complete Course in Professional Photography, The Complete Course in Digital Photography: Photoshop for Photographers, and the Fundamentals of Digital Photography.

About DETC

The Distance Education and Training Council is the nation's premier accrediting organization for home-study schools. The Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council is listed by the U.S. Department of Education as a nationally recognized accrediting agency, for online learning schools and distance education. Their rigorous evaluation process applies the same standards upheld by long-established "brick and mortar" institutions.
