If you’re interested in taking an NYIP course but want more information about the curriculum, it’s worth getting to know one of our subject matter experts, Chase Guttman. Guttman not only helped NYIP’s curriculum development team curate and organize the course materials and structure of the program, he’s personally featured throughout the course- sharing his personal experience and advice with NYIP students along their educational journey.
Chase Guttman is an award-winning travel photographer, drone expert, author, writer, lecturer and social media influencer. He has been awarded the Young Travel Photographer of the Year award three times, and is the first American in history to win.
“Photographers are storytellers first and foremost,” he shares. “We wield a device powerful enough to affect societal change. A camera is a potent tool to expose the world to alluring cultures, fascinating lifestyles and individual realities. Meaningful images should be able to stand alone, but it’s essential to chase more than a single still – endeavor to create a web of photographs that reveal a greater narrative.”
Guttman was named a World’s Top Travel Photographer by Condé Nast Traveler as well as a Rising Star by Instagram. Not only that, he won the 2017 Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Storytelling and Exploration- a lifetime achievement level honor.
His recent book, The Handbook of Drone Photography, is one of the first and only written on the topic. It received critical acclaim from publications such as Travel + Leisure, The Telegraph, Business Insider, The Daily Mail and the New York Post, among others.
